About RiverChor

RiverChor was founded in February 2004 by Dr. Rob Engelson and a core group of Messiah singers, and is based in Clinton, Iowa.  The choir has established itself as one of the premier community choral groups in the Gateway area.  It performs a wide range of audience favorites crossing many genres of music.  Members of RiverChor range in age from high school students to retirees and hail from eight different communities in Iowa and Illinois.

RiverChor is currently directed by Karl Wolf.  Mr. Wolf has recently retired as director of choirs at Clinton High School, and is a former RiverChor member.   Our pianist is Christine Holmer, former director of music at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and organist at Zion Lutheran Church, both in Clinton.

RiverChor presents two regular season concerts, in fall and spring.  The choir makes up the core group of the annual Messiah tradition, and partners with the Clinton Symphony Orchestra on their concert series.  RiverChor has also appeared at many community functions, including the Mayor’s Dinner and singing the National Anthem for the LumberKings.
